You probably don’t know that: My first sale was a talking bear system! I was working with the owner of a small manufacturing firm on a plant paging system. I mentioned that he could have a lot of fun with the trophy he had in the lobby and he immediately became interested. It was a huge white polar bear standing with its front legs extended above his head with its giant claws curled for the attack. The lobby was two stories high and the bear was in front of the main window. The bear had a lot of lookers both inside and out and I told the owner he could install a camera and monitor to see it from his office and audio equipment so he could both listen or make the bear growl or talk. Before I knew it, I was working with a taxidermist to install a sound system in the bear. The plant paging did come later, but it was half the project that the bear had become.

You probably don’t know that: There was a time you could fix 90% of all school intercom service calls with a handful of tubes, contact cleaner, and a meter. Today this technology has been replaced with digital servers, PowerPoint, and other multi-media presentation solutions. Keeping up with the changes in technology is challenging, but remains very enjoyable and rewarding.
